Blackhawks Beat Wild And Leads Three Games To One

The Blackhawks managed to beat the Wild 3-0 at Xcel Energy Center in what it was the fourth game of this series, which Chicago is now winning 3-1. The series is heading back to United Center for game five on May 9 and because the B-Hawks will be playing at home they are certainly the favorites to make it to the next round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Patrick Sharp, who was the most efficient player for Chicago with two goals, was supportive of his team’s effort and mentioned that “It’s just been a calm, collected confidence we’ve had all year. I think we definitely showed that tonight.”

Jaguars Hire Trufant, Waived Molden

The Jaguars waived a veteran player, Antwaun Molden, to bring in another one in Marcus Trufant, who was visiting Jacksonville on Tuesday and will be staying permanently as he got signed by the Jags. Since the experienced cornerback is familiar with Coach Gus Bradley’s system, it is likely that he will be one of the team’s starters next season. Trufant played for the Seahawks his entire career after being selected by Seattle as the eleventh overall pick of the 2003 NFL Draft. As for Molden, it is quite possible that he will find a backup job with any team out there soon.

Sharks Swept Canucks

The Sharks were the first team to make it to the next round of the NHL postseason as their 4-3 victory over the Canucks on Tuesday allowed them to sweep Vancouver 4-0. San Jose didn’t had it easy as their victory came in overtime thanks to an OT goal by Patrick Marleau. Mark Streit, the captain of the Islanders scored twice and helped NY to beat the Penguins 6-4 in a match that never got soft for neither team. Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov also came up with a significant contribution as he ended the game with 27 saves. John Tavares, who scored the fifth goal for New York was proud of their collective effort and mentioned that “You get into the playoffs, you put in so much effort to get here, we want to make the most of it. We believe in this room. We have a lot of character. That’s what we need.”
