Five straight defeats for Boston

The OKC Thunder acquired an important road victory as they defeated the Celtics yesterday by 97-88 at TD Garden. Being this their fifth consecutive loss, the franchise from Boston is currently 4-8 and is far away from being a championship-caliber team. On the other hand, the win meant the seventh straight victory for Oklahoma City, with Russell Westbrook scoring 26, including two vital 3-pointers with only minute and a half in the clock.

The Celtics hadn’t lost five games in a row since the 2006-07 season, the same one when they lost eighteen straight matches (a franchise record), and the team seems to be in need of a new rebuilding process as the only player from the big three that is still performing at a caliber level is Paul Pierce.

Knicks beaten by Magic

Thanks to a career-high 30 points from Ryan Anderson, the Magic managed to get a 102-93 road victory at New York and handled the Knicks their third consecutive defeat. NY was ahead on the scoreboard for most of the game, but heading to the end of the third quarter, Orlando shortened the difference by just 4 points and then took the lead for good during the past period. The Magic is still reigning supreme over the Knicks as they have beaten New York in 14 of their last 17 meetings.

Denver needs an extra quarterback

Even though Tim Tebow was phenomenal during the season that ended for the Broncos after their playoffs loss to the Patriots, the team will be signing another quarterback as they only have two under contract. As of now, Tebow has been announced as the starter for the upcoming season, but it is still unknown if Denver is going to bring in a veteran quarterback to compete and / or mentor Tebow, or a younger prospect from the draft to develop along the 24 year old.
