Clippers defeat Heat

The Clippers managed to acquire an important 95-89 victory over the Heat during overtime playing at home. Chris Paul was the top scorer for LA with 27 points (plus eleven assists and a single turnover). Also for Los Angeles, Blake Griffin finished the game with 20 points (plus twelve rebounds), while Caron Butler contributed twenty and Chauncey Billups shipped 12.

“They are going to have some battles and adversity is going to come. We’ll see how they handle it and just keep playing.” Said Chris Bosh after his team’s loss. The Clippers will have another tough test on Saturday as the other team from Los Angeles will be facing the Lakers in a game that will define who’s the king in town (for the moment that is).

Lakers leave Utah with victory

Kobe Bryant had another 40-point night yesterday when the Lakers (8-4) defeated the Jazz (6-4) by 90-87 in overtime. The defeat meant the end of the 5-game winning streak for Utah and it also meant their first loss at home this season (this was also the first road victory for the Lakers).

With just 2 seconds remaining in OT, Andrew Bynum prevented a shot from Al Jefferson, and allowed the Los Angeles team to leave Utah celebrating a victory they considered as a hard one to get. “It was a tough game. It’s hard to get a win here. Back to back, getting in here late last night, going to bed late. It’s something to be proud of as a team. Hopefully, we’ll get some sleep and get ready for another back-to-back.” Said Pau Gasol, who finished the game with 14 points.

Celtics are defeated by Mavs at home

Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 points last night and helped the Mavericks to obtain a road victory at Boston as they defeated the Celtics by 90-85 at the TD Garden. Dallas was ahead on the scoreboard for most of the game, but Boston managed to put things even at 85 with just 25 seconds left on the clock, and thanks to a couple of plays from Delonte West and Nowitzki, the Mavs acquired their third straight victory. “It’s a fun situation to be in. Everybody’s looking at you and your team really depends on you, so I like to be in the position where I can make something happen,” said Nowitzki concerning his winning basket.
