If you don’t follow every single big soccer championship out there you are probably not aware that the Germans lost the 2008 Euro Cup final against the Spaniards by 1-0, which is why their 2010 FIFA World Cup semi final match from tomorrow will serve as a revenge for Germany, whom will be looking to beat Spain in order to reach the finals as they are looking to obtain their fourth title.
The Germans are reaching the semis after coming up with a surprising and outstanding win over one of the favorites to win the cup, Argentina, dismantling the South Americans by 4-0 in the quarterfinals, and England before that by the same score in the round of sixteen.

Even though Spain and Germany will be competing as equals at the semifinals, it is certain that they are not the same kind of team, as the Germans have proven to be quite a solid squad who is filled with speed, creativity, and of course, a lot of youth, while the Spaniards have had it though to make it this far, this in despite of having the top scorer in David Villa, but their fans certainly don’t care how they got here, they are just happy that their national team made it to the semis of the World Cup for the first time in history.
Now, the Germans will be missing one of their main weapons in Thomas Mueller (one of the top scorers in the cup with four goals) due to accumulation of yellow cards, but that is not going to slow them down, as they still have some fantastic strikers in Lukas Podolski (2 goals) and Miroslav Klose (4 goals).
On the midfield, they can also get some help in Mesut Oezil, who is a player that is constantly moving towards the rival net and might who might become an essential part of the tactical squeme which coach Joakim Low will present in front on the Spaniards.
And, when it comes to the “Furia Roja”, they will be truly dependant of what Fernando Torres and Villa can do, while they might also rely on Andres Iniesta, who is the only other player from Spain that has scored so far in a World Cup that has lacked emotion and goals.
I think Spain has a good, competitive team, but the truth is that the Germans are stronger and will probably defeat the current champs of the 08’ Euro Cup.
