Winner of series between Flyers and Bruins is decided today

Now the Bruins know exactly how the Flyers felt last week when the best of seven series was 3-2 favoring Boston, as Philadelphia had to win game 6 at home in order to force a seventh match or put away the skates for good, well, now the Bruins are the ones hosting game 7 of the series, and either them or the Flyers will be playing against Montreal in the Eastern Conference finals.

The Bruins don’t want to be affected by 3 straight losses to the Flyers, as they also won the first 3 matches of the series in a row.

Philadelphia barely made it to the semifinals, but they had shown that they are a capable team which is getting more experienced everyday in terms of outstanding comebacks, and that is precisely what the Bruins want to stop, as Boston wants to take advantage of playing game 7 at home in front of their crowd, which is a considerable factor that can actually end up with the Flyers’ sudden luck.

Boston won game one thanks to an overtime goal by Marc Savard (who was playing his first match after returning from a 2-month rest period due to a concussion), and the Flyers also won game four thanks an overtime goal by Simon Gagne (who was also playing his first postseason game after sitting down due to a toe injury.

But even though they made a great come back in the series, the Flyers don’t want to rely on luck to win games, as even Mike Richards, the team’s captain and the first one to score on game six, said that he felt Philadelphia didn’t played very well, and he is sure that they need to perform even better on game seven if they want to come up with their most valuable road win.

On the other hand, the Bruins are also concerned about their coming match, as they know that they need to apply more pressure in front of Michael Leighton, their rival’s goalie, and they also need to forecheck more effectively and basically be more aggressive in their offensive strategy in order to prevent blocked shots.

This is probably one of the most exciting moments for NHL fans, as the finals are almost here, but first, we’ll have to wait for the winner between the Canadiens and either Flyers or Bruins whom will be meeting the winner of the western conference finals series between the Sharks and the BlackHawks.
