Blackhawks receives Flyers in second game for Stanley Cup

On Saturday, the Blackhawks took an advantage on their series against the Flyers as they beat them by 6-5, and tonight they are playing their second home game, where they will try to take a real advantage before flying to Philadelphia for the next two games of the series. And what is most interesting of their current matchup is that in despite of scoring a total of eleven goals in a single match none of the top scorers for both teams were successful, instead, the scoring came from unexpected sources.

So, just think about Simon Gagner, Mike Richards and Jeff Carter finding their rhythm for the Flyers on game two, and Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Dustin Byfuglien also playing at their accustomed level for Chicago, can it be then that game 2 will be a 10-point game for each team. Not likely, but it would certainly make the game more interesting.

The coach for Philly, Peter Laviolette first declined to comment on his plans about whether he will be playing with Michael Leighton as the starting goaltender after receiving five goals in game one or if he will be switching for Brian Boucher, but then he announced that he will allow Leighton to start again, as he is a goaltender who entered the Stanley Cup finals with a six-one record, and he certainly deserves the chance.

The Flyers’ Richards said that his team needs to be more persistent and stop getting discouraged about their latest loss, and instead, he mentioned that they need to put the positive aspects of game one on the table such as the scoring coming from players such as Scott Hartnell, Arron Asham and Danny Briere, and trust that they perform as good as in game one in order to be complemented by Philly’s main men in order to opt for the win.

On the other hand, the Blackhawks are also waiting that not just their secondary line to come up with a good result, but all of their players. Troy Brouwer, a right winger for Chicago, said that he is expecting a lot determination, as he is hoping that his team is going to win their second in a row at home, which can bring a lot of mental peace to the team before flying to Philadelphia for two of their toughest matches in the current season.
