With nineteen assists (a team playoff record first set by Bob Cousy) from Rajon Rondo and 22 points from Ray Allen, the Celtics managed to win an important road game that has now their series against Cleveland tied at 1-1. Boston played outstandingly and even managed to take a 25-point lead in the fourth quarter, which was enough to resist the Cavaliers’ comeback in a game that ended 104-86.
The Celtics almost blew an outstanding lead, just as they did in game one, where they were leading by eleven in the 3rd quarter, as with nine minutes left in the clock, Boston was leading by 91-66, but the Cavs were able to score fifteen straight points, putting things 93-83 with just 3 minutes remaining.

In the game, LeBron James, who played with a bruised elbow, finished with 24 points while teammate Antawn Jamison ended up with sixteen. LeBron said that he is clear about the injury, and that he would not use his elbow as an excuse for his team’s loss, he also said that he will continue to play as best as he can in the following games in order to come back to Cleveland with at least a road win.
Now Boston is going back to TD Garden in order to play games 3 and 4 against the top-seeded Cavaliers, in two games were the Celtics have home court advantage, which might give them the chance to take an interesting lead in the series. This Boston team has been thought to be quite old, but the Big Three along with Rondo are certainly proving that they are capable to win postseason games and are also able to take considerable leads in any given match, which are indications of how bad they want the championship.
The Cavs certainly knows that this is an epic blow in a series against a team like the Celtics, and also knows that nothing is going to come free for them, which is the reason Cleveland’s coach, Mike Brown was talking hard to his players after game 2 since he knows that the upcoming two road games are going to be quite difficult, and with a Boston team back in shape, it will be hard to defend against them, specially with Shaquille O’Neal underperforming.
I actually though this was going to be an easy 4-0 series for the Cavaliers, but it seems like the Celtics are not giving up, and might as well make it to the conference finals.
